Introduction

Foundation and History
The Department of Aviation Management started its activities within the Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics on 01.09.2016 and was affiliated with Tarsus University, which was established by the law published in the Official Gazette dated 18.05.2018 and numbered 30425. The language of instruction in our department is 30% English.

Title Earned
Our graduates can have various titles according to their positions in the aviation organizations they are employed.

Admission and Registration Conditions
Having a high school diploma, T.C. Candidates are placed in the university, taking into account the success scores they have obtained in the central exams (TYT: Basic Proficiency Test and AYT: Field Proficiency Test) conducted by OSYM and their preference ranking after the exam. Foreign students who are high school graduates are admitted to the university according to the results of the Foreign Student Examination (YÖS).

 
Recognition of Prior Teaching
The language of instruction at our university is 70% Turkish and 30% English. International students whose Turkish language level is not sufficient are registered to the compulsory Turkish preparatory program. The compulsory Turkish preparatory program is carried out within the framework of the principles determined by the Senate and the relevant legislation, for students to transfer from other universities to our university and between departments.

 
Qualification Requirements and Rules
A student who fulfills the provisions of "Tarsus University Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations" and successfully completes all the courses in the program with 240 ECTS credits is entitled to receive a diploma. Optional internship can be done and this internship covers 40 working days.

Program Profile
International requirements and instructions should be taken into account in the training of personnel needed by public and private organizations operating in the aviation sector. In the aviation management department, qualified personnel to work in the business and management levels of these organizations are trained in accordance with the requirements of national and international legislation. Vocational courses such as Air Transport, Airline Management, Airport Management, Operational Performance, Aviation Safety and Security; Theoretical courses within the scope of business management such as Financial Management, Marketing Management, Human Resources Management, Logistics Management and courses such as Ground Handling, Passenger Services, Air Cargo and Dangerous Goods depending on the recommendations and instructions of IATA, DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) are included in the Aviation Management Department program. 30% of the courses given in the department are in English. In this way, it is aimed to teach English, which is the professional language in the aviation industry, in parallel with the standards in the field. In addition, the students of the department have the opportunity to do an internship for 40 working days upon request. With the internship process, students will be able to observe the equivalent of their theoretical knowledge in the field of practice and will have created an important step for their career steps after education.

Professional groups such as Air Traffic Controller, Apron Officer, Assistant Aviation Specialist working under the General Directorate of State Airports Authority and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation can be preferred if the required scores are obtained from named KPSS and YDS. It is also possible to be employed as a "Contracted Officer" in the Turkish Air Force Command. In addition to the KPSS General Culture and General Aptitude exams, if they take the Educational Sciences exam, they can be appointed as "Teachers" after meeting the necessary conditions in the aviation departments opened within the Vocational High Schools under the Ministry of National Education, which are still new in Turkey. Similarly, graduates can find the chance to work as "Contract Teacher" in Private Aviation High Schools. In addition, graduates who show the necessary performance in exams such as ALES and YDS can also choose an academic career.
 
Access to Higher Degree Programs
Candidates who have successfully completed their undergraduate education can study in graduate programs, provided that they get a valid grade in the ALES exam, have sufficient English language knowledge and meet the conditions specified in the regulations of the relevant institute.
 
Exams, Assessment and Evaluation
Exams and evaluations in this program are made within the framework of the provisions of "Tarsus University Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations". Students who meet the conditions related to attendance and application, who take the final or make-up exam and get 50.00 or higher points from the exam and who have a semester success score of 50.00 or higher are considered "Successful".

 
Graduation Requirements
In order for students to graduate from the program, they must have completed all their courses and must have collected at least 240 ECTS credits from the courses in the program.
